Cybersecurity Insights with Contrast CISO David Lindner | 6/3

Insight #1

"The most recent malicious takeover of the ctx and phpass packages unearthed yet another gap in supply chain security. I say anything not maintained or changed within the last year should be scrutinized by security teams, and anything beyond 2 years should not be allowed to be used in production environments."

Insight #2

"How can customers or third parties quickly get ahold of your security or incident response teams? We all need to make sure we make it easy to find a security contact, especially in cases of vulnerabilities, attacks, or breaches. We use security@contrastsecurity.com, how about you?"

Insight #3

"Cybersecurity is a very big category. One key component to being successful in a cybersecurity role is to find the parts that you are passionate about it and create a job that focuses on that. The reality is most security teams are understaffed and senior leaders have a plethora of priorities not being addressed. You control your professional direction and can greatly influence priority and at the same time focus on the things you love."
