Insight #1
A recent report found that security and privacy concerns are holding back the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in organizations. That’s absolutely true, but it’s not the main cause. Rather, the overarching problem that’s hurting adoption is, and will continue to be, the inaccuracy of responses.
Insight #2
A Cisco study shows most security teams are overconfident in their ability to respond quickly and effectively to next-gen threats. I don't see it the same way as Cisco. Security teams are extremely confident they will be attacked or breached at any time, and they have no choice but to respond. That’s their job. That's the confidence: It's not confidence in responding successfully, as there are just too many unknowns in the equation.
Insight #3
Make sure you take care of your security teams. Look for signs of being over-stressed and burned out, and make sure they’re taking time off to refresh. One study (PDF) showed that the vast majority — 83% — of IT security professionals admit that stress has led to errors, including data breaches. It's a battle out there.
